The Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to advise that the Passport Office Mobile Unit will be in Cat Island next week from 22nd to 24th February 2021. The Mobile Unit will operate from the Administrator’s Office in New Bight as follows:

• Monday 22nd from 3-5 p.m.
• Tuesday 23rd from 9-5 p.m.
• Wednesday 24th 9- Noon.

All eligible Bahamian citizens, especially Cat Island residents wishing to enroll as first-time applicants and persons wishing to have their passports renewed should present themselves to the Mobile Unit where the full range of passport services will be available, including taking biometrics.  New applicants are reminded to review the passport application carefully and ensure that they bring the required documents and photos to accompany their applications. The Mobile Unit team will also issue completed passports to those residents who previously applied but were awaiting collection of their books in Nassau.

The opening of Passport Offices in strategic Family Island locations, as was done recently in Exuma and soon in Inagua, and the visit of the Mobile Unit to other islands and remote areas of the archipelago, is consistent with the Ministry’s policy of taking services to the people in the Family Islands, thus obviating the need for traveling to Nassau to collect their passports.
