Prime Minister Minnis meets with the Bahamas Chamber of Commerce to discuss rebuilding of Abaco and Grand Bahama

Prime Minister the Most Hon. Dr. Hubert Minnis emphasized the need to remove the red tape to ensure the rebuilding process on the islands of Abaco and Grand Bahama proceeds as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Prime Minister Minnis was speaking at a meeting with the Bahamas Chamber of Commerce and Employers Confederation (BCCEC) on Thursday 19 September about rebuilding the islands affected by Hurricane Dorian.

Chamber CEO Jeffrey Beckles assured the Prime Minister of the Chamber’s commitment to work with the Government to rebuild the devastated areas of Abaco and Grand Bahama.

Kenneth Hutton, President of the Abaco Chamber of Commerce informed the Prime Minister that close to 200 Abaco businessowners attended a meeting on Wednesday 18 September to discuss the rebuilding effort.

Mr. Hutton said the businessowners are committed and eager to return to the island to begin the rebuilding process.
