Public notice: Re-Surfacing of Bernard Road

The Ministry of Public Works/Bahamix, has scheduled Milling and Paving works for Bernard Road from 9:30a.m. to 2:00p.m., Monday through Friday, beginning September 19th 2018, for 21 working days.

The resurfacing of Bernard Road will extend from the “Village Rd/Wulff Rd/Soldier Rd Junction” to the Roundabout at Fox Hill Freedom Park.

Bernard Road will be divided into eight (8) paving sections to minimize traffic congestion. The paving Sections are listed below:

    Wulff/Village/Soldier    - Thompson Street

    Thompson Street    - Hillside Park Road

    Hillside Park Road    - Windsor Street

    Windsor Street        – Adderley Street

    Adderley Street        – Grant Street

    Grant Street        – Cockburn Street

    Cockburn Street        – Rahming Street

    Rahming Street        – Fox Hill Roundabout


There will be east and west bound lane closures implemented for the sections and for the duration of the works. Traffic diversions will be put into effect for each “section”.

 Provisions will be made for residents and businesses where necessary. Motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible.

You are asked to be aware of and acknowledge the posted traffic paving signs in the area.
