POLICE SEEK POLICE PUBLIC'S HELP IN OVERNIGHT MURDER

Nassau, Bahamas - Police are searching for the suspect/s responsible for a shooting that has left a 16 - year old male dead on Tuesday 12th September 2017.

According to reports around 11:30pm, Police received a report that a male was shot behind a home on Brice Street, Fox Hill. When responding officers arrived on the scene, they met the lifeless body of a male who was shot. The male was pronounced dead on the scene.

Investigations are on going.

ILLEGAL HANDGUN SEIZED DURING HOUSE RAID, EIGHT IN CUSTODY

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2017, Police took into custody seven males and one female following the seizure of an illegal handgun on Wednesday 13th September 2017.

According to reports, shortly after 12:30pm, a team of officers assigned to the Drug Enforcement Unit acting on intelligence executed a search warrant on a home located at Jean Street off Prince Charles Drive, where they uncovered a .380 pistol with 5 live rounds of ammunition along with a quantity of marijuana. Seven males and one female occupant of the home were taken into custody.

7 ARRESTED, 61 DRIVERS TICKETED BY MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS DURING 48 HOURS PERIOD

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2017, Mobile Division targeted patrols intended to reduce crime, and to minimize the ability for criminals to commit criminal activities, has resulted in the arrest of nine (9) persons during the past 48 hours for, possession of dangerous drugs, causing damage and outstanding court warrants.

Additionally, 61 drivers were ticketed for various traffic violations.
