Schools participate in first Bahamas Marching Band Competition

Nassau, The Bahamas - School bands from New Providence and Family Islands including Eleuthera and Mangrove Cay, Andros, competed in the Bahamas National High School Marching Band Competition organised by The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.

A first of its kind, the competition was held at the Kendal G. L. Isaacs Gymnasium, Saturday March 29, and brought together the bands that showcased their skills in various categories including: drumline, marching band and sound sport.

Parliamentarians contributed to the event by donating over $106,000 in musical instrumentals to schools in their respective constituencies.

The results are as follows:

DRUMLINE BATTLE COMPETITION FOR JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOLS  C.H. Reeves Junior High School, 1st place

S. C. McPherson Junior High School – 2nd

L. W. Young Junior High School -3rd

A. F. Adderley Junior High School – 4th
