NASSAU, The Bahamas – To the theme, ‘A Past to Remember, A Present to Celebrate, a Future to Generate,’ Minister of Financial Services & Local Government the Hon. Strachan, a St. John’s College Alumnus, congratulated the graduating Class of 2015 on completion of years of hard work that brought them to that point, and congratulated their families for steadfast support at Graduation Ceremonies on June 23 at Holy Trinity Activities Centre.

Minister Strachan, an alumnus of St. John’s Markham House, commended the year’s achievements and cheered the accomplishments of each house – Markham, Burton, and Llewellyn, elated that, while all had done well, Markham had won the prize for Maths.

She said that coming back to the campus and Graduation Exercises triggered memories back to 1977 when she graduated from the same process that made her who she is today, and added: “I want to congratulate all of the Houses who would have achieved first place in the various sporting activities. I congratulate Markham House for achieving that math [prize] and I want to encourage you students who are left, especially those in Markham -- next year, we will hear about some sporting feats from Markham!"

She commended the teachers for sacrifices they made in preparing the Class of 2015 for readiness to enter the world and leave their mark.
