NASSAU, The Bahamas - Honourable Senators both Government and Opposition including Attorney General and Leader of Government Business in the Senate the Hon. Allyson Maynard, and Leader of Opposition Business the Hon. Carl Bethel, Members of Parliament, and Cabinet Ministers led by Acting Prime Minister the Hon. Philip Davis, and Opposition Leader the Hon. Hubert Minnis, attended the state-recognized funeral of former Senator Edwin Brown at Bethel Baptist Church, Friday, February 5, 2016.
The Hon. Carl Bethel led Opposition Senate Members in a march from the Senate to the church with the procession and the former member's body. Her Excellency Dame Marguerite Pindling, Governor-General, was also in attendance. The Hon. Philip Davis and the late Mr. Brown's family and friends saluted his life and work, honourably calling him a true Bahamian who loved his country and its people regardless of their political beliefs.
