FREEPORT, Grand Bahama -- Hundreds of college and high school students gathered at St. George's Gymnasium on Thursday afternoon for the Ministry for Grand Bahama’s Summer Job Programme Orientation before they report to work on Monday, June 29. The group were entertained with a skit and addressed on a number of issues they should be aware of such as punctuality, reliability, and confidentiality, to name a few. Minister for Grand Bahama, the Hon. Dr. Michael Darville, was also on hand and urged the students to take advantage of the opportunity presented to them.

The students will take part in the first of two month-long job programmes and were briefed on how they should and should not conduct themselves while employed.

Shown with the students following the orientation exercise from left are: Melanie Hodgkins, Human Resources at the Ministry for Grand Bahama; Minister Darville; Rosemary Nixon-Martin, Senior Assistant Secretary and Coordinator of the Programme; David Saunders, Financial Officer, Public Treasury; and Adriann Gilbert, Chief Clerk at Ministry for Grand Bahama. Second photo shows Minister Darville chatting with the students. (BIS Photo/Andrew Miller)
