Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians call on Mrs. Minnis

Nassau, Bahamas - Officers and members of The Bahamas Branch of the Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians (CWP) paid a courtesy call on Mrs. Patricia Minnis, spouse of the Prime Minister at the Office of the Spouse on Monday, March 4, 2019.


The Bahamas Branch was led by its chairperson and Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture the Hon. Lanisha Rolle.

Mrs. Minnis enlightened the women on projects her office is committed to such as advancing girls, the Healthy Lifestyle Team (HaLT), the feeding network and gender based violence awareness.

She told them that the Office of the Spouse is an advocate for promoting education and awareness as it relates to these areas thereby fulfilling the objectives of the Spouses of the Caribbean Leaders Action Network (SCLAN) and the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development goals (SDG).

The parliamentarians congratulated her and the Prime Minister on the creation of the office and said they look forward to working with Mrs. Minnis in the future.
