Grand Bahama's Beacon School plants trees for Forestry Awareness Week‏

Freeport, Grand Bahama - Minister for Grand Bahama, the Hon. Dr. Michael Darville,  participated in the planting of fruit trees at The Beacon School in recognition of Forestry Awareness Week.  The Bahamas is participating in the forestry awareness initiative of the United Nations which aims to focus attention on the role of forests and greenery in the well-being of communities, and ultimately the earth.  Minister Darville, the school's principal Ms. Piti McKenzie-Moss, along with the students, planted avocado and mango trees. Minister Darville, Ms. McKenzie-Moss and some of the teachers are seen with students of The Beacon School.   (BIS Photo/Andrew Miller)
