Disability Awareness Public Forum Held

Nassau, The Bahamas -- The Disability Affairs Division of the Ministry of Social Services and Urban Development hosted a Disability Awareness public forum at Wesley Methodists Church, Thursday, March 14. The forum was held under the theme “Encouraging Integration and Equal Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities.” Attendees heard topics such as the law and rights of persons with disabilities, the Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities) Act 2014 and persons with disabilities in the work place. Representatives from REACH Inc. and the Bahamas Alliance for the Blind and Visually Impaired (BABVI) spoke about their efforts. (BIS Photo/Kristaan Ingraham)
