Bahamas Gaming Board Conducts Leadership Training

NASSAU, The Bahamas – Management and supervisory personnel employed by the Gaming Board of The Bahamas participated in a nine-week Leadership Development Training Programme during the summer.

A graduation ceremony was held with the theme, “Equipped and Empowered to Embrace New Beginnings” on September 14, 2016 at the British Colonial Hilton. It was addressed by Deputy Director General of Tourism Ellison ‘Tommy’ Thompson, who offered congratulations to the participants on their success, on behalf of the Minister of Tourism.

The Gaming Board has established a Training and Development Department for its line and management personnel in order to create a learning culture, train and empower recruits, manage talent, develop leaders and facilitate succession planning.

In this instance, 17 persons ‘acting’ in and recently promoted to higher management positions were selected to participate in this inaugural Leadership Development Program, which they successfully completed towards performing effectively in their evolving industry.
