Governor General and Prime Minister Attend Celebration Service for Rev. Dr. Carrington Pinder

NASSAU, The Bahamas – Governor General Her Excellency Dame Marguerite Pindling, and Prime Minister the Rt. Hon. Perry Christie are pictured at the celebration service for the Rev. Dr. Carrington Pinder of St. Mark’s Native Baptist Church, Romer Street, Fox Hill, who was being Consecrated to the office of Bishop and Installed as General Superintendent of the St. John’s Native Baptist Society of Churches.  The service took place on Friday evening, August 19, 2016 at St. John’s Native Baptist Cathedral, Meeting Street.  Bishop Carrington Pinder succeeds the Rev. Dr. Michael Carrington Symonette, who served as Bishop and General Superintendent of The St. John’s Particular Church of Native Baptists in The Bahamas for 51 years.   The Governor General is pictured looking on from her pew, and the Prime Minister delivers remarks to the congregation.  (BIS Photo/Patrick Hanna)
