The Ministry of Youth Sports & Culture proudly congratulates Shaunae Miller-Uibo on her recent world record setting performance of 34.41s in the 300m at the 58th edition of the Golden Spike track meet in Ostrava, Czech Republic.  Running out of lane 4, Shaunae easily eclipsed her field of competitors, smashing the previous world-best of 35.30 set by Ana Guevara at altitude in Mexico City in 2003.

We also congratulate Stephen Gardiner on his first race since returning from injury earlier this year, winning his 400-meter race at the same competition in a season’s best time of 44.95s.

The Ministry takes this opportunity to congratulate both athletes and we wish these, and all of our outstanding athletes, a continued healthy and successful season.
