NASSAU, The Bahamas - Student and community entrants gave solid dramatic performances at the Dundas Centre for the Performing Arts, during the E. Clement Bethel National Arts Festival New Providence adjudications, on March 20, 2019.  Receiving Honours from Drama Adjudicator and Cultural Icon Philip Burrows were Chevette Miller -- who was in character as Aunty Roxy -- and Queen's College student Gabrielle Cartwright.  Receiving Distinctions were St. Anne's student Marissa Capron and an ensemble from Genesis Academy -- the latter performing  "Let's Play" by teacher and Bahamian playwright, director and actress Patrice Francis.  The New Providence adjudications are currently in their second week and over 1,100 entrants in New Providence are expected to take part in dance, drama, voice, playing musical instruments and arts and craft, through March 22.  The Dundas Centre for the Performing Arts is the venue for dance, musical instruments and drama, while Holy Trinity Church Activities Centre, in Stapledon Gardens, is the venue for vocal performances.  All events are free and open to the public.   (BIS Photos / Eric Rose)
