Traffic Notice - Independence Celebrations Clifford Park

Nassau, Bahamas - On Tuesday July 9th 2019 at 8:00pm the Bahamas will celebrate its 46th Independence Anniversary. The Royal Bahamas Police Force in conjunction with the Independence Committee will commemorate this anniversary, with an Independence Celebration at Clifford Park beginning at 8:00pm on Tuesday 9th July, 2019.

In conjunction with the celebration on Friday 5th July, 2019 a National Pride Day Ceremony will commence at 10:00am.

ROAD CLOSURE

From 4:00pm until after the Celebration the following streets will be close to
vehicular traffic not connected to the celebrations.
(a)    WEST BAY STREET BETWEEN NASSAU STREET AND ST. ALBANS DRIVE.
(b)    MARCUS BETHEL WAY BETWEEN WEST BAY STREET AND INFANT VIEW ROAD.
(c)    DEANS LANE -EXITING ONTO MARCUS BETHEL WAY
(d)    GIBB'S LANE -EXITING ONTO MARCUS BETHEL WAY

NO PARKING

From 4:00pm until after the Celebration no vehicles will be permitted to park on the following streets.

(a)    WEST BAY STREET BETWEEN NASSAU STREET AND ST. ALBANS DRIVE BOTH SIDES
(b)    MARCUS BETHEL WAY BETWEEN WEST BAY BOTH SIDES
STREET AND INFANT VIEW ROAD
(c)    INFANT VIEW ROAD BETWEEN NASSAU STREET AND CHIPPINGHAM ROAD BOTH SIDES
(d)CHIPPINGHAM ROAD BETWEEN WEST BAY STREET BOTH SIDES
AND BOYD ROAD
(e) THE GRASS AREA SOUTHERN SIDE OF WEST BAY STREET BELOW THE FORTS.
(f) NASSAU STREET BETWEEN WEST BAY STREET AND BOTH SIDES
SOUTH STREET
All Vehicles parked in violations will be towed at owner's expense.

PARKING
(a)    PARKING LOT - WEST OF THE HOLIDAY INN HOTEL ON THE WESTERN SIDE.
(b)    PARKING LOT-WEST OF HAYNES OVAL (CHIPPINGHAM ROAD)
(c)    BOTANNICAL GARDEN'S (SOUTHERN GROUNDS)

VIP PARKING

(a) ROAD TRAFFIC PARKING LOT- WEST BAY STREET (VIP ONLY)

Toe person's attending the event must pay close attention to the signs posted, the flow of traffic will change as follows:-

For those going to the event vehicular will flow west on Infant View to Chippingham Road north on Chippingham Road to West Bay Street onto Arawak Cay where they will Park.

For vehicular traffic leaving the event traffic will flow west on West Bay and south on Nassau Street east on Infant View Road and south on Nassau Street.

VIP's traveling to this event from the east will be allowed to travel north on Nassau Street or west on West Bay Street from Cumberland Street.
