Urban Renewal Band to Participate in 'Children's Christmas Parade' in Atlanta

Nassau, The Bahamas -  The Hon. Frankie Campbell, Minister of Social Services and Urban Development (with responsibility for Urban Renewal) and Mr. David Cates Acting Permanent Secretary, Urban Renewal Commission, went to LPIA today to see the Urban Renewal Band off on its trip to Atlanta to participate in the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta 'Children's Christmas Parade.' The popular Christmas parade takes place on Saturday, December 1, 2018.  The Urban Renewal Band will be the only foreign band participating.  A total of 50 band members plus chaperones and police officers are traveling.  Band director is Corp. Anthony Capron of the Royal Bahamas Police Force; Supt. Philip Rolle, oversees the Band; both are traveling with the youngsters. The band members raised a significant portion of the funds needed for the trip.  Members have been practicing for weeks.  (Photos/Courtesy Urban Renewal Commission)
