NASSAU, The Bahamas – To the theme, “Sail Home, Catch the Wind,” paths will very soon lead to the Grand Bahama Regatta & Homecomin at popular Taino Beach. Minister of Agriculture and Marine Resources the Hon. V. Alfred Gray announced at a press conference, Wednesday, that long-standing Grand Bahama Regatta Committee Member Walton Rolle will be honoured at the sailing tourney, July 22-24, 2016.

Minister Gray remarked: “On this occasion the Grand Bahama Regatta Committee has chosen to honour Mr. Walton Rolle, a long-standing Regatta Committee Member who actively served until 2015, freely rendering his time and resources to the building up of the Regatta Committee, and his community.

“Today he must be commended as he continues to render service and advice when called upon.

“Grand Bahama in recent times has been experiencing a rejuvenation in its economy, with a resurgence in tourism. Added to this is the budding momentum in sloop sailing, hence this year’s theme, 'Sail Home – Catch the Wind.'"

Minister Gray encouraged Grand Bahamians to return home and enjoy the weekend filled with fierce sloop sailing competition, live Bahamian entertainment and good food; and he appealed to visitors, and all Bahamians to “Sail Home, Catch the Wind” and experience all that Grand Bahama has to offer.
