Workshop for Passport Office Staff

Nassau, The Bahamas - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the Department of Transformation and Digitization of the Office of the Prime Minister, held a workshop for Passport Office staff on Saturday 6th July 2019 in the training room of Cecil Wallace Whitfield Centre on Cable Beach. Staff members of the Passport Offices in Nassau, Grand Bahama and Abaco attended the workshop.  Other staff members participated via teleconference --  Consular officers of Bahamas Overseas Missions in Atlanta and Ottawa participated via video-conferencing.  A staff member of the Bahamas Embassy in China was present at the workshop in Nassau.

This workshop is one of several that will be held during the year, and is part of the strategy of the Ministry to improve efficiency at the Passport Office.

Topics covered included: Office of the Prime Minister’s Digitization Loan and Digitization Pilot (presented by OPM Permanent Secretary Elise Delancy); Legislation Governing Passports (presented by Roselyn Dorsett-Horton); Use of Supplementary Documents, Customer Service (presented by Director of Training, Nicola Watson); and Legislation vs. Policy (presented by Counsel Jacinda Butler).
