NASSAU, The Bahamas – ‘Round One Fishing for a Future’ commercial fishing training programme paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Agriculture and Marine Resources the Hon. V. Alfred Gray, July 27, at the Ministry.   The fishing programme began in January with training sessions to make young Bahamians proficient in commercial fishing and diving.  Fishing vessel owners and four seafood-processing plants participate in the training, coordinated by Peter Gilcud.  Minister Gray said he looks forward to more Bahamians working local fishing vessels, and less need to issue work permits for non-Bahamians to work the local fishing industry.  Minister Gray is pictured centre, with Mr. Gilcud (behind), Ministry officials, and young fishing trainees.  (BIS Photo/Letisha Henderson)
