Chiropractic, How to Cheat Entropy

Human nature often leads us to cheat. Cheat literally means to “fall away from something.” Like when everyone is on a pathway and someone takes a side trail trying to get ahead of the others.

With our health we often use dubious methods which only appear to help us on our way. As we “fall away” from health we may suddenly wake up and become desperate for “loss avoidance” and we cheat. We take any and all desperate paths to get what we want back again, our health.

Just like in many human relationships, we have a friend or loved one and we may find ourselves cheating on them. We are falling away from them. We will frequently risk the relationship for some unrealistic lofty goal.

Humans often measure position in life by their relating to others. We are pack animals. We place and order ourselves mentally and psychologically in comparison to others around us. And we may have unrealistically raised up these others on a pedestal, especially if we have just met them and don‘t know them well. Then we may see ourselves in a hole-full-of-losses by comparison. How could we possibly be anything like them? Frequently that is when the only way to catch up seems to be by cheating.

Humans like many other animals are greedy and will do almost anything for reward. We are often hyper-motivated and desperate for getting what we want. Pain and pleasure motivate and we usually choose pleasure even at the expense of something we my cherish like our relationship or our long term health. Short term gain for long term pain.

Loss of health may not be in one’s mind’s eye when we cheat a little, nor may be the loss of a cherished relationship, but we know as we behave poorly that one day we will have to face the losses we chose to initially avert.

Health is usually taken for granted and viewed by most as a given, an ongoing thing that is stable. We may look at ourselves and not care about the sway back or the rounding uneven shoulders, the tilted head, or a limping gait. And we may just go out and buy a new set of clothes to make it go away, to cover us up, to keep our eyes off of what is real. That is cheating. And the marketing and sales people love it.

To make a good first impression, “look at your posture, others do.” And remember the others are going to use their impression of us, to place themselves, to order themselves and set priority in the pack.

Poor posture is telling. It tells of our “falling away,” our being cheated out of our health and letting it happen. Sure a poke in the belly or ribs will call attention to the problem but only momentarily. We soon automatically go back into our slide-away-from-health, our poor posture, and back to showing the fact we are unhealthy.

So hiding it away is the next natural realm of cheating ourselves. Drugs and other non healthy items are readily used to hide pain in our outrageously selfish and greedy society. We willingly throw all kinds of money on all kinds of foolish and dangerous items to get ourselves feeling good, or to look better for awhile.

But the fact is our health is an ongoing undulating and fluctuating item. It is alive and pulsing and we don’t do well if we cheat for it. We get caught every time and lose dearly except for when we prevent rapid loss by long term appropriate lifestyles and proper bodily management.

When our body is literally falling and stooping over and we see it and don’t take heed of it we are cheating and getting cheated. It is the antithesis of self help, it is greed itself to not look after ourselves, to not maintain ourselves for the sake of our species.

We accelerate our loss of health by not responding to the signals of desperation that our body is screaming out to our deaf ears and boldly signing to our blind eyes.

Seeing ourselves in a pit of losses and uselessly cheating to avoid confrontation, the hard work to recapture health, we willingly and unwittingly let the burdens of gravity rapidly grind us down.

In physics, the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics states that, “entropy is: energy lost from a closed system breaks down the system,” and “the older the system the more rapid the breakdown.”

“Gee if only I’d have known I’d live this long I’d have taken better care of myself, ha, ha, ha.” And “Ha, ha, ha” back at you.

Reversing entropy just doesn’t happen. The best we may expect in life is to get an early start on slowing our loss of health, our entropy and continuously pursue that task.

Over the past 40 years in chiropractic family practice I have observed tens of thousands of children attempting to struggle along under the constant stress of gravity. As the sapling is bent so grows the mighty tree.

Parents that have greedily cheated along their path of life do not understand and are not going to easily understand the struggle their children may be having until it is late. It quickly becomes too late to fully apply the necessities to slow down loss of health.

What necessities are these and what does a chiropractor have to do with slowing down our loss of heath?

Simply put, children as well as adults, acquire subluxations throughout our bony frames. Subluxations acquired throughout our lives on an ongoing nature, from the womb to the tomb, upset the fragile “gravity speak” of our joints, ligaments, muscles and tendons. In turn this inability robs the nerves of their potential to communicate directives to and from our ancient brainstem, blocking our potential ability to find and centrally place our bony structures along the optimum axis of gravity.

Maybe it isn’t so simple is it? But be patient for that is how it all works and it is the chiropractic principle that works too.

Earlier this week I had an email from my niece Dr. Stacey Scott, a seasoned chiropractor in Nanaimo, British Columbia. Although reserved it was apparent from her email that she was very pleased with being appointed to the post as the first officially sanctioned Canadian chiropractor to the athletes at the winter Olympic Games in Whistler, B.C. You’ve come a long way Baby!

And so has chiropractic. By taking the subluxation and manually adjusting it, reducing the binding and jamming of the joint, the whole, the concord of our organism responds better to our environment.

Things work better after being adjusted into their former and potential range of motion. Especially if we start when our bodies are young and supple and we keep them that way.

Dr. Scott should be proud of herself as she leads this great profession into further future exposure. With to-days research and sciences rapidly communicating throughout the globe, “nothing can stop an idea that has met its time.”

By safely adjusting and correcting the segments of our body that are continually “falling away” from the gravity midline, we in the chiropractic profession can help prevent rapid bodily breakdown, the rapid acceleration of entropy our loss of health and life.

Chiropractors like Dr. Scott know that rubbing and drugging isn’t going to dent our rapid loss of health we are only allowing to continue by not addressing aggressively the cheating our misaligned spine and extremities permit.

Keeping accelerated entropy at bay is a constant ongoing battle and we need experts to take the reins and guide us towards our health potentials. We all need experts to keep us on the path of health.

So my friends if you haven’t addressed your “entropy” then I suggest you get to your chiropractor quickly and often and stop the “cheating of your health“ from continuing. If you don’t have a chiropractor then get one. Hopefully you may find yourself in an ongoing relationship with a Dr. Scott.

“Beam me up Scotty!”
