Caribbean Week New York Sets Schedule of Events

NEW YORK, NY - The Caribbean Tourism Organization

s (CTO) Caribbean Week
New York (#CWNY17) will come alive in the Big Apple when tourism
officials, industry executives, media, Caribbean Diaspora, travel
agents, consumers and students come together to participate in a
calendar of activities that showcase the best of Caribbean tourism.
Taking place June 3 - 10, 2017 as a celebration of the sights, sounds,
color and culture of the Caribbean, the week combines business sessions
and consumer-oriented events with Caribbean-inspired food, lively
entertainment and networking opportunities.
Caribbean Week New York is the largest regional tourism activity in
the New York area. Artists, performers, celebrity chefs, investors and
other strategic partners join government officials and the media as all
converge on New York for a week that showcases the diversity and
vibrancy of the region.
The overall objectives of Caribbean Week New York are:
- To raise awareness of the Caribbean as the #1 vacation playground.
- To deliver events that attract significant positive media attention.
- To provide opportunities for member destinations to promote their individual products and services.
- To engage the Caribbean Diaspora.
Ministers of Tourism, Directors of Tourism, National Tourist Office
representatives and other key tourism and hospitality officials from
the around the Caribbean, will come together for meetings, seminars and
celebrations while the annual Media Marketplace will host travel writers
where qualified journalists will discover new products and initiatives
while interacting with various Caribbean partner representatives who
will assist in communicating the allure and value of Caribbean
vacations.
Caribbean Week is highlighted with a cultural celebration at the
Rum & Rhythm Benefit and Auction -the Ultimate Caribbean Epicurean
Experience -on
Friday, June 9, which will return to the prestigious Capitale in New York City.

Celebrity Chefs Program -
Saturday, June 3 to Friday, June 9, 2017
- The Caribbean is known for its incredible smorgasbord of
culinary offerings influenced by its European, African, Indian and
indigenous heritage. During Caribbean Week, the Caribbean Celebrity
Chefs will demonstrate mastery in preparing authentic Caribbean dishes
at a variety of upscale and highly visible locations, such as
Bloomingdales and Williams Sonoma, that support Caribbean Week and whose
customers match the profile of potential Caribbean vacationers.
Church Service -

- Members of the Diaspora, the Caribbean Diplomatic Corps and
Caribbean tourism industry personnel are invited to join the CTO to
observe the 44th Caribbean Week in New York, give thanks for the
Caribbean, and pray for continued growth and success of the industry.

Caribbean Diaspora Forum -
Monday, June 5, 2017 /

- In this Forum, as CTO continues to strengthen the relationship
between the Diaspora and the Region, visiting Caribbean tourism
officials, policymakers and Diaspora leaders and influencers will
celebrate Caribbean American's contribution to the United States during
Caribbean American Heritage month as well as discuss opportunities for
economic development through the efforts of the Diaspora at Optimizing
the Benefits of Cultural and Heritage Tourism.
Workshop for NTOs -

- Workshops for National Tourist Office (NTO) representatives
offer participants an opportunity to increase their knowledge and
networking by collaborating with other segments of the industry to
increase travel to the Caribbean. The theme of this workshop is "To The
Collaborators Go The Spoils."
Trade Show and Educational Forum for Travel Agents -

sustainable goals is by having youth involved in all of its activities.
The Students Colloquium brings together teams from several colleges to
present a sustainable project that provides a positive experience for
residents, tourism companies and visitors.
Caribbean Tourism Marketing Conference

Price will return as host of the Luncheon.

- The Caribbean Media Marketplace, another not-to-be missed annual
event during Caribbean Week New York, attracts a wide-range of travel

opportunity to interact with writers from the trade and consumer press
and to tell their travel stories.
Rum & Rhythm Benefit and Auction -

- The CTO Foundation will celebrate the diverse sights, sounds and
flavors of the Caribbean at the sixth annual Rum & Rhythm Benefit
