Dominica Carnival Mas Domnik 2017 a Success

DOMINICA - The Ministry of Tourism and Urban Renewal and the Discover Dominica Authority hails the success of Mas Domnik 2017. This sentiment has also been shared by those who participated and followed the events locally and internationally through various forms of media.  The success of this year’s Carnival can be attributed to the effort of all the stakeholders involved.

Additionally, Government’s decision to increase funding for the Carnival 2017 Budget played a key role in the success of this year’s events. The Minister for Tourism and Urban Renewal, Senator Robert Tonge applauds the organizers, revelers, and the general public for a creative, safe, and enjoyable Carnival Season.

The Ministry wishes to thank Flow who has annually partnered to sponsor Carnival for a number of years and recognizes other major sponsors including Tropical Shipping; Anchorage Hotel; Carlton Phillip and Co. Ltd; DBS Radio; DA Vibes; Vibes Radio; Kairi FM; Q-95 FM; The Sun; The Chronicle; Marpin 2K4 Ltd; Dominica News Online; Depex Colour Lab; National Bank of Dominica; Dowasco; Domlec; Dominica Brewery & Beverages Ltd.; Heineken; Carib Beer; Pirates; Heaven’s Scent; LIAT; Winair; Choice TV; The Wave; PJD2; Radio Caribbean International; Variety Radio and ABS Radio and TV.

To the sponsors of the National Queen Pageant Contestants, a heartfelt thank you for your contribution in making this year’s Pageant a success; The Henry Group of Companies; Range Development; Caribbean Association of Fire Fighters; Step Up Nutrition and the National Cooperative Credit Union.

The Ministry also thanks the Board and Staff of the Discover Dominica Authority, Dominica Festivals Commission, Road Parade and Queen Show Committees, Dominica Calypso Association, Dominica State College, and private sector entities which assisted with the planning and execution of the major events during the Carnival Season. Additionally, the chaperones, costume bands, school bands, t-shirt bands, traditional groups, and all other groups who participated in Mas Domnik 2017 must all be commended for their invaluable contribution.

The Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force must also be commended for their excellent partnership in ensuring a safe and orderly Mas Domnik. The Ministry also extends thanks to the Roseau City Council; Pottersville Development Committee, Goodwill Secondary School; St. Alphonsus Church; DASPA; Roseau Central Clean-up Crew; volunteers and all other persons contributed to the success of Mas Domnik 2017. We look forward to continued partnership and collaboration in 2018.
