Forum on the Future of the Caribbean, May 5th in Trinidad & Tobago

The University of the West Indies and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Trinidad & Tobago, in conjunction with the United Nations System in Trinidad & Tobago and a wide range of international development partners will host a three-day forum titled Forum on the Future of the Caribbean - Disruptive Thinking. Bold Action. Practical Outcomes.

The Forum will be held on Tuesday, May 5th, 2015 at the St. Augustine Campus of The University of the West Indies in Trinidad and Tobago. Days two and three, on May 6th and 7th, will take place at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Port-of-Spain. Close to 400 persons have registered for the three days.

It will present a multi-stakeholder, multi-disciplinary platform to mobilise the Caribbean to establish a cohesive strategy as well as a practical agenda to solve its own problems. It is intended to provoke and generate disruptive thinking that can lead to innovative, actionable ideas and solutions.

Professor Sir Hilary Beckles, incoming Vice-Chancellor of The University of the West Indies, is the Moderator for Session 4 on May 6th: ‘New Thinking for New Times’.
