Patrick Ward elected to Insurance Association of the Caribbean Board

Nassau, The Bahamas – July 1, 2019  Patrick Ward, President & CEO of Bahamas First General Insurance Company, has been elected to the Board of Directors for the Insurance Association of the Caribbean Inc. (IAC). Ward will serve as a director for the period commencing June 2019 to May 2022.

According to its website, “The Insurance Association of the Caribbean (IAC) Inc. is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the promotion and growth of the Caribbean Insurance Industry through research, education and advocacy… in so doing to create a platform for regional harmonisation and integration in the industry.”
 
The IAC has more than 70 members operating in various types of insurance sectors regionally and internationally.

Patrick Ward said, “I am delighted to be able to represent the Bahamas in this regional body that has a uniquely Caribbean focus in an important industry. I look forward to collaborating with our regional counterparts to ensure the continued development and competitiveness of the sector.”

The Insurance Association of the Caribbean, Inc., in association with LIMRA and LOMA presents an annual conference, The Caribbean Insurance Conference, the premier conference for professionals in the Caribbean Insurance Industry. The 39th Conference was recently hosted in Cancun, Mexico, with over 500 delegates from 38 different countries from the insurance, financial and business sectors.

The 40th edition of the annual Caribbean Insurance Conference is scheduled to be hosted in June 2020 in The Bahamas.
