PwC launches digital skills training programme for employees in the Caribbean

Nassau, Bahamas - The PwC network firms operating in the Caribbean are launching an internal training programme to boost the skills of its employees across the region. PwC’s intermediate to advanced skills-building programme, called Digital Accelerators, will equip participants to transform the way they work by using more effective and efficient tools and working practices. Digital accelerators will have a direct impact on how we transform our working practices and how we upskill the entire workforce on everything from data analytics and automation to machine learning and blockchain.
Trishia Ogilvie, learning and development leader for PwC firms operating in the Caribbean region said, “The Digital Accelerator programme is a key part of our internal digital upskilling strategy to provide our people working most closely with our clients with the tools and resources they need to drive innovation on the ground.” Globally, PwC have invested heavily in new technologies which it is using to complement its transformation and strategy through execution capabilities. “Our clients are looking for us to provide greater insights and value which we believe can be achieved by increasing our digital aptitude. Through the Digital Accelerator programme our people will develop their skills in critical areas and work on projects that will bring cutting-edge technology to our clients to help them solve important problems.”
The first phase of the programme will focus on data and analytics and will include classes on collecting and cleansing data and visualisation techniques to create greater insights for our clients. In future phases, the programme will include classes on automation, cybersecurity, and training on new technologies to enhance our services.

The Digital Accelerator programme follows the earlier launch of the Digital Fitness App, a tool that measures an individual’s digital acumen and then allows them to grow it through bite sized learning solutions. Digital accelerators will spend about two hundred hours learning, through a combination of classroom and online training, as well as virtual teams working on projects. They then take this learning back to their jobs and not only apply it but share what they are learning with their teams and colleagues.
