Freeport, Bahamas - The Grand Bahama Chamber of Commerce conducted a seminar entitled "Self-Leadership: Your Pathway to Success in Business and Life", this past Saturday, May 24th at the Chamber's offices. This seminar was one of many informative, power packed seminars and workshops the Chamber has slated for the remainder of the year.

The seminar on Self-Leadership covered several topics including; defining self-leadership and what it means on an individual level, assuming responsibility for your results by understanding who you are, what you want, and how to reach your goals, as well as how to be self motivated and prepared for change and adversities.

The Seminar was sponsored by Bank of The Bahamas and facilitated by Billie Bowe, President, Benchmark Consulting Services. Bowe also serves as the 2nd Vice President of the Chamber.

"The seminar's goal was to empower and inspire persons in our community to understand self-leadership and apply the skills and techniques needed to succeed in business and life. We believe we accomplished this. It was evident from the positive feedback we received from the participants", Bowe said.

Participants went away with a wealth of information, customized manuals, quick reference guides and Certificates of Achievement. One participant, Wendy Huyler, commented, "Very engaging, content communicated in a language that is understandable." Others stated that the seminar will definitely enhance their lives at work and home and indicated that they will definitely attend other seminars hosted by the Chamber in the future.

The Chamber of Commerce under its Small Business Development and Education Committee aims to provide the tools and resources needed for the business community, or anyone seeking to invest in their personal and professional development.

The Grand Bahama Chamber of Commerce is soon to announce their next seminar to be held in June 2014. All chamber members as well as the general public are invited to attend. Interested persons may contact the Chamber's office at 352-8329 or email info@gbchamber.org .
