And the Grand Prize Winner Is….

Coca-Cola & Wendy’s Send Grand Bahamian To NYC on JetBlue

She didn’t win a Grammy for best song or a Pulitzer for best book, but Linda Rahming of Grand Bahama is having the best week of her life as the Coca-Cola and Wendy’s Livin’ Large Promotion grand prize winner -- the lucky lady just walked away with an all expenses paid trip for four people to New York City on JetBlue Airways.

“I didn’t believe it at first,” exclaimed Linda Rahming, Coca-Cola’s and Wendy’s Livin’ Large grand prize winner. “I thought it was a prank when I got the call from the DJ at Spirit Gospel Splash 92.5FM telling me I’d won a four-day, three-night trip for four to New York City. You could imagine my surprise when I called the station to verify that it was in fact true.”

During November and December, patrons of Wendy’s were eligible to win weekly $500 cash prizes by simply upgrading their combo to a large and filling out the accompanying entry form at any of the nine Wendy’s locations including Grand Bahama and the Lynden Pindling International Airport. BahamasLocal.com provided weekly updates of winners and tracking of visitors interested in the promotion on the site. The grand prize winner was drawn from the pool of entries collected during the fifth and final week of the promotion.

“The excitement generated over the five weeks of the campaign was exceptional, remarked Yolanda Pawar, Marketing Manager Wendy’s Bahamas and Marco’s Pizza. “At the time of the drawing, there were hundreds of entries. I think everyone was trying to win this incredible trip to New York, and for good reason. Customers can definitely look forward to even more exciting and equally rewarding promotions from Wendy’s and Coca Cola this year.”

When asked how she felt about being the grand prize winner, Ms. Rahming expressed, “I actually never upgrade my combo but I did during my visit and was happy that I had. I’m just waiting for the weather to warm up and I’ll be heading on over for a weekend getaway with a few of my girlfriends. I’m happy to be a Coca-Cola and Wendy’s winner.”

“Although we’re at the culmination of the Livin’ Large campaign with Wendy’s, Caribbean Bottling Company is always pleased to team up with local companies to create fun and exciting opportunities for our customers,” shared Cyndi Williams-Rahming, Customer Service & PR Manager, Caribbean Bottling Company (Bahamas) Ltd. (CBC). “We congratulate Linda and wish her well on the trip. Coca-Cola looks forward to the next promotion and you never know, you could be a winner. “

“We look forward to welcoming Ms. Rahming and her friends onboard our nonstop flight from Nassau to our hometown at New York’s John F. Kennedy airport,” said Sean Williams, Coordinator Consumer Promotions for JetBlue while extending his congratulations. “Like Wendy’s customers, JetBlue travelers live large on every flight with more legroom than any other carrier in coach, free personal seatback TVs and plenty of entertainment to choose from, and a great selection of complimentary snacks and drinks like Coca-Cola.”

“I think it’s great to see that someone from the Family Island actually won,” shared Ms. Rahming. “Often times we participate in these promotions and wonder whether or not our entry forms are included because the winners are usually from New Providence. While there is only one Wendy’s in Grand Bahama we’re still loyal customers. With my being a resident of Grand Bahama and winning the promotion, it re-affirms my belief in the companies that appreciate Family Island business."
