Nassau, The Bahamas – April 13, 2018 ALIV is elated to have served for a second year as a Gold Sponsor for the 11th Annual Integrated Building Services (IBS) Build a Bridge Challenge which took place at The Holy Trinity Activity Center on Thursday, April 12th. Sixteen (16) schools came together to compete but only one would come out on top- a five-person all-girl team from the Anatol Rodgers High School. The IBS Build-A-Bridge Challenge is an annual popsicle stick bridge building event for high school students across The Bahamas. The event began in 2008 by Integrated Building Services, a Bahamian engineering firm.

IBS Office Manager Phillipa Dean said everything that ALIV stands for when it comes to team work, branding and the advancement of technology is what pushed her to connect with ALIV. “We wanted that brand to be a part of our event, we like the energy, the innovation, the creativity and the types of support they lend to the community. We figured our competition fit that category of their slogan “Believe in Best” and they believed in us because we too believe that we are the best,” she said. “It was more than just financial, although that is important it was more important for us to have ALIV on board because again, all that they believe in.”

ALIV Marketing Executive Jayme Pinder said ALIV was elated to sponsor the IBS Build a Bridge Challenge for the second year in a row for a myriad of reasons.

“We deemed it necessary to sponsor this event again because we understand the importance of not only giving back to the community, but investing in the future leaders of our nation,” she said. “ALIV prides itself in creating and being a part of not just any experience but meaningful and memorable ones that will remain engrained in the minds and hearts of many. Today, we were able to do just that with these kids. This challenge represents innovation, creativity, teamwork and of course, hard work - all of which Aliv supports. We look forward to working with IBS in the future.”

Last year St. Augustine’s College (SAC) would walk away with the top prize for the second year in a row. However, this years SAC placed second with Kingsway Academy pulling up the rear in third. Central Andros who could not make it to the event took home the top prize for Aesthetics.
