Abaco Pathfinders invites you to a Soiree in Support of our 2011 Scholarship Fund. Enjoy a poolside fashion show featuring 5 top Bahamian designers from Islands of the World Fashion Week on March 18th at Hope Town Harbour Lodge starting at 6:30pm.

Donation is $100. Tickets are available at the Abaco Pathfinders Office or Hope Town Harbour Lodge.

Abaco Pathfinders Scholarship Foundation was conceived and developed by a number of residents and businessmen of Hope Town in 2001. Our goal is to provide funds to enable deserving students from the Abaco islands to continue their education after high school. For some, this may be financial help needed to go to college. However, recognizing the need for skilled workers in the islands, we hope to also give economic assistance to those who wish to attend vocational schools as well.

In ten short years, we have helped send over 130 of Abaco’s youth to college. Our scholarships are given without regard to race, religion or country of origin, and are based on merit, desire and need. These young people are active in their communities and come highly recommended. They go through a rigorous interview process and are truly worthy of assistance.

Many of our students have returned to the Bahamas and are employed as teachers, lawyers, dentists, doctors, counsellors and many other professions. It is our privilege to assist students, many of whom without assistance, may not be able to go to college. We believe in a good education and believe that it does not only change that person, but generations.
