Donation to Assist with Community Giveaway of School Supplies, Snacks, Free Haircuts & Fun Day Hosted By WeLife Foundation

Nassau, Bahamas ... On August 26th, 2017, the WeLife Foundation in partnership with the Myles and Ruth Munroe Foundation will host its annual Backpack Giveback Community Event to assist parents and guardians with the challenge of back to school preparations.   The event, held at 11a on Christie Park will giveaway school supplies, snacks and provide free haircuts for children aged five through thirteen.    WeLife will also add a bit of fun to the day with face painting, a bouncy castle, free hot dogs and pizza and a gospel D.J.

Founder of WeLife, Shavonne Strachan thanked Fusion Superlex and the Atavus Group Ltd. for their donation.   “Without good corporate citizens supporting community initiatives like ours, we would not be able to provide help to others.   We truly appreciate Fusion Superplex and the Atavus Group Ltd. for providing this funding and helping us to reach out and giveback.”

The WeLife Foundation was started in 2016 by Ms. Strachan with three goals in mind.   To restore faith to battered souls, eliminate hunger in children and bless the less fortunate.   Since the Foundation has been in operation, WeLife (which stands for We Live In Freedom Everlasting) has donated to more than 800 families in need of school supplies and groceries.

Coming from a background where money was often scarce, Strachan understands the struggles faced by children, parents and guardians daily.   “I came from nothing but I will continue to give everything because through help brings hope and WeLife is dedicated to not only providing what is needed on a physical plain, but boosting and nurturing the spirit of those who feel broken,” Ms. Strachan stated.

“We are very impressed with Shavonne,” said Carlos Foulkes, CEO of the Atavus Group Ltd (owners and operators of the Fusion Superplex), “As an individual she represents everything our organization stands for and believes in.”   Adding to the sentiment, founder and Legal Counsel for the Atavus Group Ltd. Tecoyo Bridgewater noted, “Tenacity in the face of adversity resonates deeply for us as group as our own backgrounds are rooted in various struggles not often spoken about in our society.   Through our donation we too want to send the message that anything is possible, dare dream big.”

Background

The Atavus Group Ltd. was officially formed in 2013 with four founding members, Carlos Foulkes (CEO), Dominic Richards (COO), Tecoyo Bridgewater (Legal Counsel) and Demarco Gibson (Chief of Security, Facilities & Maintenance).     The group broke ground in January 2016 on the $42 million-dollar Fusion Superlex facility which will house IMAX, 4DX, V.I.P cinemas, soft play, an arcade, the Sub-Zero ice-cream franchise, coffee house and a restaurant.   Fusion Superlex is slated for opening in early 2018 and expected to employee more than 125 Bahamians.
