PARADISE ISLAND, The Bahamas –  Extra! Extra! Read all about it! Atlantis, Paradise Island continues its efforts to recognize and reward its outstanding team members! The Crystal Awards – Amethyst Period, held in the Atlantis Theatre Friday, August 29th, saw some 104 line-staff employees, 10 Manager nominees and 5 Leader nominees all vying for their chance to named among the best of the best and to be put in the running for the resort’s end-of-year- Crystal Diamond Awards.

When it was all said and done though, a total of 26 – 9 from the Front of House division and 17 from the Heart of House division - took the win in the General Staff category, while 3 Manager and 2 Leader winners were named.

Addressing both the nominees and the winners, Chief Operating Officer Paul Burke thanked them for their daily efforts to achieve the resort’s goal of ‘blowing away the customer.’ “I just want to share with you the deep gratitude expressed by the executive leadership for everything that’s been done in the past and to give a heartfelt thank you for all future deeds… Thank you all for providing such a positive role model for the rest of us to follow in pursuit of our goals… You know that it is important to keep us positively positioned and I thank you in advance for providing the future headlines.”

Hosted by F&B SVP Ian Reid and Guest Activities VP Amanda Felts, the awards ceremony featured what organizers refer to as “Wow Moments” where clips detailing letters sent in by guests noting the amazing efforts of individual team members who make it a point to go above and beyond to create the ever-promised “wow” experience were shown, as well as entertaining performances by several talented Atlanteans and a pleasantly surprising Rake n’ Scrape number dealt by The Rhythm and Youth Band. This year’s Amethyst Awards were held under the theme: “Celebrating Our Employees Who Make Us Shine In The Headlines.”
