Paradise Island -  Last week the Guest Activities Department at Atlantis teamed up with Sales and Marketing to reach out to local schools and teachers with an open house event. The main reason for the open house is to allow teachers to experience the various Guest Activities we have available for school groups.

“We had about 70 teachers RSVP however some did not show up due to inclement weather. We still felt it was successful, however, because the teachers that did attend enjoyed themselves and learned a lot about our offerings. We have already booked a few school groups to come in so it was worth it so far,” said Allison Collie Sr. Director of Guest Activities.

“It’s important that we do this because we want to form relationships with the local community so that we can work together on a consistent basis. Exposing them to not only our programs but our staff, who are always extremely upbeat, fun, and friendly with great attitudes is also a great selling point,” she added.

Morgan Fraser, Sales and Marketing Manager discussed how awareness for the teachers was an important part of the event.  “The open house helps because many teachers do not know we host class parties or field trips. My role is to make as many teachers aware of the event and collect contacts so that whenever new promotions are available, local teachers and schools will be the first to know. “

Activities Manager Kwiesi Miller expressed his satisfaction with the execution of the event. “We did a great job this year with presentation and as a result I think the teachers were blown away. The environment was bright, upbeat and festive which was a great representation of our division. Overall I think the teachers had a great time and I think it’s important that we continue to cultivate this relationship with the teaching community.”

According to the organizers the overall the feedback was very positive. Many teachers expressed interest in bringing their classes to Atlantis for end of year parties and/or field trips. They were very surprised at how many different options were available to them and seemed interested in returning to Atlantis.
