Nassau, N.P. - A team member of the BTC Flight 242 Junior Achievement Company, Bobbeth Colebrook, beat out more than 500 competitors to take first place honours and the individual title of ‘Most Distinguished Achiever’ in this year’s annual Junior Achievement programme; she also won the Speech Competition.

Winners in all categories were named at the Awards Banquet at Atlantis on Saturday May 16th and the Bahamas Telecommunications Company-sponsored team had their best year in the past decade to win team and individual honours.

Executive Advisor Barry Wilmott, who has guided teams from BTC over 24 years, said this year he gave a different goal to his youngsters.

“I made a commitment that this year I would motivate and coach them to also see the wisdom of winning individual titles in addition to winning team awards. Over the years I have come to recognise that if you also develop, mentor and coach our future leaders for individual glory they will go on to win awards throughout their life.”

BTC Flight 242 Company took home 17 awards overall; they achieved 1st and 3rd place in the Top Scores category with Ashlee Colebrook scoring a perfect 100% and Alexis Hamilton scoring 97.5. The team president Italia Clarke placed 2nd for Top Sales Person and three company officers were finalists for Company Officer of the Year award. Ashlee Colebrooke took 1st place in the Junior Achievement Exam and Alexis Hamilton, 3rd place. “Our company came in 3rd for Highest Return on our company dividend in the amount of $52.86 per share. The Dividend cheque will be paid on May 30th. Overall all we had a very successful year due to the contributions of each of the team members and the guidance and motivation of the mentors and my Advisory Team.”
