Nassau, The Bahamas. September 21: Churches and community organizations have substantially increased their efforts to support our communities during the COVID-19 pandemic by providing groceries and other forms of relief. BTC joined forces with Friendship Tabernacle Church in Abaco and the Grand Bahama Reach Out and Touch Feeding Program to support their efforts during this difficult period.

BTC CEO, Garfield Sinclair said, “We are happy to lend a helping hand and partner with organizations that are committed to supporting our communities especially during these tough times. Friendship Tabernacle Church in Abaco and the Grand Bahama Reach Out and Touch Feeding Program are both doing their part to assist the community so this was an easy decision for us to assist them with their efforts.”

Dudley Seide from Grand Bahama’s Reach Out and Touch Feeding Program said, “We thank BTC for their generous donation to our feeding program. Your donation goes a very long way in ensuring families are able to eat a hot meal. Our feeding program has always been a staple in the community. Since the passing of Hurricane Dorian and with so many on Grand Bahama out of work due to COVID-19, we have been able to support over 12,000 persons.”

Silbert Mills, Pastor of Friendship Tabernacle Church thanked BTC and said, “This kind donation will be directed towards providing food supplies for our seniors. We are working closely with the Department of Social Services to determine qualified candidates and we will be delivering the items directly to them.”

Over the last several months, BTC has supported a number of organizations including Great Commission Ministries which provides meals and groceries for thousands of residents each month.
