Bahamas Press Club holds black tie awards ceremony

NASSAU, The Bahamas - The Bahamas Press Club 2014 held its Pioneer Awards honouring the pioneers and legends in Journalism and Mass Communications on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at the British Colonial Hilton.

The Lifetime Achievement Award went to Eileen Dupuch Carron, Editor and Publisher of the Tribune. She is the World's longest current serving Editor and Publisher, 53 Years. The other awardees: The Broadcasting Corporation of the Bahamas (ZNS);  Silbert MIlls, Radio Abaco; Henry Saunders, MORE 94 FM; Anthony Ferguson, Guardian Talk Radio; Wendall Jones, Jones Communications Network; Kenneth Francis, The Nassau Guardian (Posthumously).

The guest speaker for the black tie event  was Rowena Bethel, Director and Chief Executive Officer, The National Insurance Board. Patron of the awards was Sir Arthur Foulkes. It was also a fun filled evening with media trivia questions, door prizes and entertainment by Frankie Zhivargo Young.
