RBC took the opportunity to celebrate the leadership team of The Bahamas Primary School Student of The Year (BPSSOY) Foundation during a luncheon hosted in their honor. BPSSOY Foundation celebrates 20 years of highlighting the best and brightest Bahamian students, and has contributed over one million dollars in scholarships to local students through the assistance of corporate partners like RBC.
"We are focused on youth education and development. They are our future," said Deborah Zonicle, RBC Senior Manager, Products, Marketing & Channels. She further shared, "RBC remains committed to the growth & development of the Bahamas. Through our sponsorships and donations, we continue to invest tangibly in education and our youth. Today we salute you, the leadership team of The Bahamas Primary School Student of The Year Awards. We also commend this organization for raising the profile of primary school students and for their dedication to the holistic development of our youth."
RBC has been honored to have supported the Awards since 2000 and collectively contributed $40,000 in sponsorship. RBC was also the title sponsor in 2015 for two years and continues to partner with the foundation, impact thousands of local students.
Lila Nottage, 2016 winner remarked on how grateful she is to have had the opportunity to inspire other students through her platform as Bahamas Primary School Student of the Year. "I think it's great that RBC is supporting the foundation because it really does transform the lives of the students who work hard in The Bahamas for their education," she said.
"RBC came on board and invested over $40, 000 since our establishment and we are grateful," concluded Ricardo Deveaux, CEO, BPSSOTY Foundation.
