Nassau, Bahamas – Since 1995 Banrock Station Wines, have been protecting the environment in their native Australia. Now as their brand grows they are proud to be spreading the word of environmentalism to The Bahamas and exemplifying their Motto “Helping Protect our Beautiful Planet”

Banrock believes in re-investing its profit back into environmental projects or protection of delicate areas – like the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. The company has contributed to more than 130 projects in more than 13 countries, investing over six million dollars for Planet Earth.

So teaming up with Jimmy’s Wines & Spirits (Bahamian Brewery) was an easy match. Together these companies will work to assist the Bahamas National Trust (BNT) and the work they do protecting marine and wildlife. Jimmy’s Wines and Spirits, the local distributor for Banrock Wines will donate five cents of every bottle of Banrock Wine sold, to the BNT protection and conservation efforts.

“We expect this donation, over time will surely go a long way in assisting the National Trust with its efforts to protect and preserve the delicate environment across The Bahamas,” said James ‘Jimmy’ Sands, CEO of Jimmy’s Wines and Spirits. “We know that our islands are God given and beautiful, we must care take for the next generation. I am proud to be part of these efforts in supporting this great cause!”

The BNT protects over 2 million acres of land and sea across The Bahamas. The Trust also advocates for the protection of wildlife like the West Indian Flamingo and Bahama Parrot, once near extinction, and now thriving thanks to the work of the National Trust. Currently they are working to support the Conch and Grouper Spawning grounds as well as increasing parks that are being preserved for future Bahamians.

Eric Carey, Executive Director of the Bahamas National Trust expressed his gratitude to Jimmy’s Liquors as well Banrock Wines for their generosity. Mr. Carey said “The National Trust is pleased to be selected for this undertaking. Banrock has clearly demonstrated its commitment to the environment in Homeland, Australia, and we're excited to be part of its expansion internationally. The National Trust and the Sands Family have a longstanding relationship, and we are deeply appreciative of their continued support through the Jimmy’s Wines & Spirits (Bahamian Brewery Company.)’

The Banrock Wines will be available at all eight Jimmy’s Liquor stores across New Providence, Grand Bahama, Abaco and Eleuthera.
