Beauty queen joins fight against HIV/AIDS

Nassau, Bahamas - Miss Universe Bahamas, Toria Nicole made her first official to the Bahamas AIDS Foundation Thursday as the newest spokesperson for the charity organization.

In her new role as a beauty ambassador Toria will work along with the foundation to assist in their fundraising efforts, become actively involved in the work of the foundation and hopefully bring more national attention to HIV/AIDS in The Bahamas.

"The work that we do at The Bahamas AIDS Foundation is costly and so fundraising is critical.  We couldn't be happier to have Miss Bahamas Universe Toria Nichole join our team.  We are excited by the passion and enthusiasm she brings" said President of the Bahamas AIDS Foundation Camille Lady BarnettToria, who will represent the Bahamas at the Miss Universe competition learned about the work of AIDS Foundation and the role she will now play.

"I am particularly interested in working with the children affected with HIV.  This is a cause close to me." she said. "I want these kids to learn to love themselves and recognise they have an incredible future ahead of them."
