Bishop Delton Fernander on the passing of Apostle J. Rodney Roberts
By Bishop Delton Fernander, President of the Bahamas Christian Council
Jul 25, 2018 - 1:22:52 PM
Today, the Christian community mourns
the passing of one of it's most prolific soldiers. Many Bahamians
knew Apostle J. Rodney Roberts affectionately by the name 'Coffee'.
He spent most of his life in the work of bringing souls to the
knowledge and love of God. From his days touring public schools
leading young people to Christ to the building of a successful
church, gospel music career and preaching and prophetic ministries,
Apostle Roberts was focused on spreading the gospel.
One of his most admirable qualities was
the fearless nature in which he spoke truth to power. He was a
devoted family man and was proud of his children, both biological and
spiritual. He lived the life he preached and we can be comforted in
the fact that his absence from this world is evidence that he is now
present with the Lord.
It is my hope that his legacy will live
on in those whose lives he touched and that they will endeavour to
carry on his work as our country and this world need bold, fearless
leaders like J. Rodney Roberts who are not afraid to preach God's
word. On behalf of the Bahamian christian community, I extend my
deepest sympathy to his wife Pastor Curlene Roberts and their three
children as well as the officers and members of Five Porches of
Deliverance Apostolic Centre. May his soul rest in peace.
