Nassau & Grand Bahama, Bahamas – Bahamian Brewery and Beverage continued their support of regattas throughout The Bahamas by making donations last week to both the Long Island and Grand Bahama regattas.

“We have always been huge supporters of Bahamian regattas, as they’re a ‘Truly Bahamian’ sporting and family event,” said Lynden Johnson, Sales and Marketing Manager at Bahamian Brewery and Beverage. “Not only that, but since regattas are sailing races, they’re the best place to host our Sands ‘Man in the Boat’ sculling races, which have been revitalising the sport of sculling throughout The Bahamas.”

The Long Island Regatta is scheduled for Labour Day weekend with the sculling race taking place Sunday, June 8th. All of the sculling races are opportunities for scullers to make it to the sculling championship which will be held in November. Additionally, the Brewery encourages support of the regattas as they are something that is inherent to The Bahamas.

“Bahamian Brewery & Beverage Company is very pleased to be a participant in the Grand Bahama Regatta, scheduled for July 18 – 19th, at beautiful Taino Beach,” said Robbie Butler, Grand Bahama BBB Sales Manager. “Our financial contribution to the regatta, demonstrates the Brewery’s commitment to Grand Bahama and indeed to the ‘Truly Bahamian’ sport of sloop sailing.”

In addition to the financial aid, the Brewery, will host their well-known “Man in the Boat’ sculling races in Grand Bahama and they are calling all scullers – male and female, from east to west to register. As a part of their sponsorship of the regatta, the Brewery will not only be selling beer but they will also run and organise the bar for the two-day event. There will be beer specials along with a full bar courtesy of their sister company Jimmy’s Wines and Spirits. And, of course, Jimmy’s and the Brewery will supply the beverages at the GB Captain’s Party on Thursday July 17th at West End Triple Play bar from 6-9pm, where the Brewery and Regatta Committee will begin their celebrations.

“We are thrilled that the Brewery continues to support the GB Regatta cultural and sport event,” said Chervita Campbell, Chairman of the GB Regatta Committee. “It’s because of sponsors like these that we are able to provide entertainment, Class sailing races, Jr. Sailing as well as the ‘Man in the Boat’ sculling races.” She also went on to note that they have booths available for local food vendors for $100 per day and that the Master of Ceremonies at the regatta will be provided by the Mighty Pencil.

Butler concluded by saying, “Once again, we thank the organisers for inviting us to be a part of this event, and we encourage all Grand Bahamians and residents to come out and enjoy a real Bahamian good time.”
