Canadian & American Women’s Clubs join forces to help families rebuild after Matthew

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island -The Canadian Women's Club of Grand Bahama and the Grand Bahama American Women's Club have joined forces to help families and individuals start over after losing their homes and possessions due to Hurricane Matthew.
 
Members of both clubs continue donating needed items from linens and household utensils to clothing, which are being distributed by activist and humanitarian Mr. Joe Darville, and the five Rotary Clubs which are coordinating their efforts.

In the past two weeks the clubs have collectively organized the following items for distribution

Linens

Pillowcases  185 (these are to be used on the pillows donated by the Cruise Ship)
Pillows (9)
Sheets (84)  (assorted sizes)
Comforters (5)
Towels - bath size (78)
Throws - (2) (light blankets)
Washcloths (36)
Hand Towels (21)
Blankets (3)
Quilts (6)
Tablecloths (4)
Kitchen Towels (13)
Kitchen Rugs/Bathroom Rugs (6)
Outdoor Chair pillows (some can be used to sleep on)

Kitchen Items

(3) Complete sets of dishes, assorted housewares including pots, pans, coffee pots, toasters, frying pans, plastic Ware and utensils.
 
Clothing
 
Assorted clothing for men, women, and children all washed and ready to be worn.
This clothing includes men and women's t shirts, 2 women's jackets, 5 new bras, a wallet and assorted shoes.
 
Packaged home goods, towels, comforters and utensils have also gone to Mary Star and St. Vincent to assist with distribution to needy families in Eight Mile, Hunters, and Lewis Yard.
