Let All The Earth Hear His Voice”

FREEPORT, Bahamas – The children of Life Community Church (LCC) took over the morning church service on Sunday March 19, as they led worship during the annual Children’s Sunday celebration, under the theme Let All The Earth Hear His Voice.

Led by CLEAR Steps, the children’s ministry of LCC, the service featured a multi-cultural display of song, dance, drama and biblical teachings, by children between the ages of three and eleven.

The children wore purple, which is the designated children’s ministry color, along with accents of fabrics, patterns and fashions inspired by countries from around the world in an effort to depict the theme for the day.

Making a special appearance at the Children’s Sunday service was Charlie the Hippo, the children’s ministry mascot character, who travelled all the way from Africa to put a smile on the faces of the children and introduce them to his wife, Charlene.

According to Children’s Ministry Leader at Life Community Church, Queenie Missick, a lot went into curating and executing such an awe-inspiring service.

“The bible tells us that where there is unity there is strength, and that is what we practice in the children’s ministry,” she said.

She explained that “The children are encouraged to share their faith at school and throughout their neighborhoods to show other children that they attend a church where God is alive.”

Senior Pastor of Life Community Church, Cedric Beckles, said the children led service was “outstanding, encouraging, humbling and exciting.”

According to Pastor Beckles, Children’s Sunday was designed to put the teachers and students on display so that the congregation can see exactly what they are learning.

He said, “We made a commitment that we would invest in the children’s ministry so that it would be fun for the children, while being informative to the adults.”
“The children are our future, and we do not want to wait until they get into their teenage years and adult lives to start to challenge them, instead, we want to give them a taste of God early, so that the seeds of the word of God would be planted in them and spring to life. Without children’s ministry there is no future for the church”, Pastor Beckles said, who himself accepted the gift of salvation at age eleven.

Children and parents alike were treated to a Sunday meal after the service, along with ice cream, courtesy of Franks Ice Cream.

Over 200 children were in attendance at this year’s Children’s Sunday service.
