Miss Bahamas Organization calls on Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration

Nassau, The Bahamas—On 4th September 2014, The President of the Miss Bahamas Organization (MBO), Ms. Michelle Malcolm and the recently crowned Miss Bahamas World 2014, Ms. Rosetta Cartwright and Miss Universe Bahamas 2014, Ms. Tomii Culmer, paid a visit to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration and was greeted by the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Philip Miller and Senior Diplomats and Officials of the Ministry.

The “Beauty Ambassadors” presented their platforms and current activities to the Ministry sharing the purpose for their initiatives and the reasons why they were inspired to choose these causes. Miss Bahamas World’s platform focuses on Education as a means of positive development of Society, where she is currently engaged in initiatives to introduce programmes into the nation’s schools for the purpose of assisting students that need help with learning. Miss Universe Bahamas’ platform reflects her mission statement, “To inspire, nurture and encourage self-worth and inner peace in youth and children,” where she will be engaged in initiatives that will focus on positive self-development of the youth and children within the nation to help them to have a positive outlook on themselves, others and society.

The President of the MBO shared with the Ministry the genesis, goals and objectives of the Organization which seek to develop young women to become positive role models in society. She requested more support from the Government and the community in the development and exposure of the Queens and expressed her gratitude to the Ministry for its agreed assistance.

The Miss World Pageant is set to take place this December in London and the Miss Universe Pageant is also projected to take place this December at a venue that will be announced shortly.
