Angelo Knowles has been selected as this year’s recipient of the EY Bahamas Jamaine McFall Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship will be used to fund Angelo’s attendance at Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia, Canada, where he will pursue an undergraduate degree in accounting.

Upon learning of the news, Angelo commented, "Words cannot express how grateful I am to be this year’s recipient of the EY Bahamas Jamaine McFall Memorial Scholarship. Most of this would not have been possible if it were not for my teachers, family, and most importantly, my parents — Alvin and Gina Knowles, who guided me through every step of the process with their endless love and support. It is an honor to represent both my family and EY, and I look forward to supporting EY’s mission of building a better working world.”

The scholarship is valued at up to $30,000 USD per year for a maximum of five years and provides students who have shown academic excellence the opportunity to gain higher education and build a successful career in the professional services industry. The scholarship also includes an eight-week summer internship to gain practical experience and an offer for full-time employment at EY upon successful completion of the university program.

“We are so pleased that we have found a high caliber recipient like Angelo. He has truly put his best foot forward not only in academics but also in community service, which is an integral part of our firm values for driving the future,” said Tiffany Norris-Pilcher, Partner at Ernst & Young Bahamas, who is responsible for leading the scholarship programme.  “We value our people and the qualities they bring to the work environment, and having someone like Angelo as part of our EY family is a true delight.  We are excited for what the future holds for him.”
