Nassau, New Providence  — French Consul to The Bahamas Dominique Levefre recently celebrated Bastille Day at Café Madeleine, the French patisserie at Baha Mar. Bastille Day is a day of national pride similar to the Independence Day in the United States and is typically celebrated by eating traditional French foods. In honor of the special Bastille Day guests, the culinary team, led by Grand Hyatt Baha Mar Executive Chef Brent Martin, created an exclusive menu of contemporary French cuisine as well as traditional French pastries such as croissants and madeleines prepared by Chef Celeste Smith, head pastry chef at Café Madeleine and silver medalist at the 2018 Taste of the Caribbean culinary competition.

“Our very talented Bahamian team at Café Madeleine brings the essence of an elegant French café experience to The Bahamas. We believe that using traditional French cooking and baking methods that incorporate premium French ingredients with fresh, locally sourced ingredients is the best way to create that experience for our guests,” said Chef Martin.

"On such an important day to celebrate French pride and cuisine, we were honored to make Mr. Lefevre feel right at home.”
