GBPA: Remembering Tourism Giant, David Johnson

Freeport, Bahamas - The Grand Bahama Port Authority & Group of Companies Ltd. express heartfelt condolences to the wife of Mr. David Johnson, Sabrina Bowe-Johnson , their two sons, and extended family on his recent passing.
 
Mr. Johnson was a pioneer and champion in leading the charge to make The Bahamas the top tourism choice in the world.  Having served 39 years in the tourism and aviation industry, the longevity of his career led him to receive multiple prestigious appointments, including President of the Grand Bahama Island Tourism Board, Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Tourism, and Senior Director General of the Ministry of Tourism.  Johnson also lead Bahamasair from 1986 to 1992 as General Manager and Director of Marketing.
 
His love of sports and country is noted by all who knew him.  Johnson will be remembered as a loving husband, caring father, and upstanding citizen of The Bahamas.
