Green Turtle Cay, Bahamas - The 2nd Annual Festival of Lights was held in New Plymouth over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend marking the beginning of the holiday season in Green Turtle Cay. The three day event began with a traditional Thanksgiving feast along the waterfront where hundreds of residents and visitors also enjoyed a stage program and a Torchlight Procession by the students of the Amy Roberts Primary School and the GTC Homeschoolers.

Those gathered on Friday evening were treated to a variety of homemade soups and desserts followed by Bingo, a Golf Cart Parade, while the kids paraded the streets singing Christmas carols donned with jingle bells for the Jingle Bell Trot. The evening concluded with a spectacular fireworks display.

The three day event concluded with a fun-filled family day of games, arts and crafts, and a variety of interactive programs. Closing events included an “Exotic Beauty Contest and a  performance by the “Green Turtle Cay Village People;”

On Saturday, December 11th a Lite the Nite Boat Parade scheduled to make its way into Black Sound, White Sound and Settlement Creek.

Santa and his elves will also be on hand to present gifts to the young people.
