COORDINATORS OF the Haiti Relief Drive from Freeport Container Port were on hand for the send-off of the 40' container of good donated by the Grand Bahama community.

Freeport, Grand Bahama - The support staff of Freeport Container Port (FCP), Freeport Harbour Company (FHC), Grand Bahama Airport Company (GBAC) joined by MSC Bahamas recently completed a relief drive to assist victims of the recent earthquake disaster in Haiti.
The drive encompassed the island of Grand Bahama as employees manned a 40’ container in communities from West End to East End and at various business establishments to solicit donations under the theme: ‘We are our Brothers Keepers’.

The container is packed with everything from non-perishable goods, toiletries, clothing, shoes, water, and other items donated by the community, and left Grand Bahama today enroute to Haiti thanks to MSC Bahamas Ltd.

“This compassionate effort by the staff is indicative of their caring spirit and a desire to help, and the company is pleased to again lend a hand in the relief effort for Haiti.  We cannot begin to imagine what lies ahead for that country and we are pleased to be able to show our support,” said Mr. Gilbert.

Associates from Hutchison business units, Freeport Container Port, Freeport Harbour Company and Grand Bahama Airport Company,  coordinated the effort that made the drive successful express their gratitude to the general public, civic organizations, schools, and the corporate community for their humanitarian spirit to help those who are suffering and seeking to regain their stability.
