Nassau, Bahamas – As a part of CIBC FirstCaribbean’s Adopt-a-Cause program, staff members from the Shirley Street branch delivered essential items and supplies to the residents and staff of the Mary Ingraham Intergenerational Care Centre over the weekend.

Adopt-a-Cause is a program implemented across the CIBC FirstCaribbean network to encourage staff involvement in community activities. Through the initiative, employees are given the opportunity to identify and assist worthy projects and causes within the communities that their branches or units serve.

Syltura Ferguson, who spearheaded the branch’s Adopt-A-Cause activity this year said,

“We delivered several different items that will make life a bit easier for the Care Centre’s elderly residents. They now have a nice new microwave, a good supply of cleaning products, personal hygiene items and two chests of drawers; fortunately, we managed to get them everything that they requested.”

Branch Manager, Sean Blyden, said he was proud of his team for the care and kindness they showed in the community outreach program.

“Each branch plays a part in CIBC FirstCaribbean’s larger philanthropy mission. We hold the Adopt-A-Cause initiative in high regard and try to support the neediest causes. It is something we like to do on a personal and professional level.”
Through the efforts of employees, the bank supports just approximately 100 organizations and causes across the Caribbean every year including schools, non-governmental organizations, charities and other interest groups.
